Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely across various locations, ensuring timely and secure transportation. Responsibilities
Operate HGV Class 2 lorries, including flatbed vehicles, in compliance with road safety regulations and company policies
Conduct pre-journey safety inspections of the vehicle before each shift
Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries
Secure cargo appropriately, especially when transporting flatbed loads, ensuring safety during transit
Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and vehicle logs
Maintain communication with the dispatch team regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered
Adhere to all legal requirements related to driving hours and tachograph regulations
Assist with loading and unloading goods when required, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed
Requirements
Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record
Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience involving flatbed loads
Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving in the UK
Ability to operate flatbed trucks safely and securely transport various types of cargo
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines
Strong communication skills for liaising with dispatch teams and clients
Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks when necessary
Flexibility to work various shifts as required by operational demands
This role is ideal for motivated individuals seeking a professional driving position within a dynamic logistics environment.
Hours of work:
Week 1 Monday to Friday 6am-2pm
Week 2 Monday to Friday 2pm-10pm
Week 3 Monday to Friday 10pm-6am
