Summary
Agricultural Service Technician – Ripon – £excellent + excellent benefits + company vehicle
Our client is looking for an experienced and motivated Agricultural Service Technician who specialises in self propelled forage harvesters
You will carry out diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on customer and dealer owned agricultural equipment particularly self propelled forage harvesters.
This role involves workshop and field based work, supporting customers with service and repair work, setup, optimisation, and ongoing machine performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform diagnostics, service, and repairs on agricultural machinery, with emphasis on self propelled forage harvesters and related systems.
• Work confidently with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and AMS technologies.
• Complete all job cards, DTAC cases, timesheets, and admin accurately and on time.
• Deliver right first time repairs to maintain customer satisfaction and departmental performance.
• Carry out field based diagnostics and repairs when required.
• Advise customers on machine optimisation and deliver on farm training sessions.
• Perform pre delivery inspections, setups, and quality control checks.
• Liaise with manufacturers and specialists on complex technical repairs.
• Lead by example in Health & Safety, compliance and housekeeping.
Skills & Qualifications
• Experience of performing service, diagnostics, and repairs on agricultural machinery.
• Strong, proven background with self propelled forage harvesters (is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided).
• Competent with advanced diagnostic systems.
• Experience with major unit overhauls, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrains.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills with a positive, proactive attitude.
• Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence essential
