Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiasticHealthcare Scientistto join theRespiratory and Sleep Sciences Departmentat University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW), a recognised UHCWi Centre of Excellence.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team delivering high-quality diagnostic and clinical services across respiratory and sleep pathways. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting service delivery, patient care, and ongoing service development within a busy and progressive department.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.


Key Responsibilities
• Undertake routine and specialised lung function testing in accordance with departmental and national standards
• Perform calibration and quality control procedures on all respiratory laboratory equipment
• Support the clinical supervision, training, and development of less experienced staff
• Maintain and update own professional knowledge and competencies in line with professional requirements
• Contribute to departmental research, audit, and service improvement initiatives

• Participate in the standard setting for all routine test procedures performed and equipment used, including participation in the development of standard operating procedures.
• Contribute to the maintenance of safe working practices within the department, ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety legislation, other relevant legislation and Trust policies.
• Contribute to the day to day running of the department, including appointment provision and stock control.
• Undertake specified administrative tasks, under supervision, for development within an agreed personal development plan.
• Plan and prioritise own work load.
