Summary
The Department of Reproductive Medicine based at Old Saint Mary's Hospital is looking for enthusiastic and committed Junior Clinical Fellows who wish to gain clinical experience in Reproductive Medicine.
The post offers an excellent opportunity to obtain clinical experience in modern fertility care and care for patients undergoing assisted conception treatments. The post holder would be expected to run supervised clinics, gain experience in modern fertility care and complete departmental administrative tasks. Depending on aptitude and eligibility there is potential to gain skills in gynaecological/fertility scanning. Whilst this post is not recognised for training, we will endeavour to meet your training needs.
• Delivering outpatient clinics caring for couples presenting with subfertility, including those needing assisted conception treatment. These are both virtual (video and telephone) and face-to-face clinics.
· Post holder will have the opportunity to gain exposure to HFEA regulations, fertility preservation and donor treatment cycles
• The post holder, in collaboration with the other Clinical Fellows already employed in the department would have responsibility for the day to day management of patients undergoing assisted conception treatment. Occasionally, patients are admitted to the ward with complications of treatment (such as OHSS) and the post holder would share responsibility for caring for these patients.
· There are ample opportunities to undertake audits and carry out small clinical research projects. The unit is research active and the post holder would be encouraged to become involved in ongoing research projects.
· Covering Unforeseen Absence/ Occasional Emergencies. The post-holder may be asked to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant, in consultation where practicable with colleagues both senior and junior.
