Duties as Secondary Supply Teacher:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons confidently across a range of secondary subjects
  • Maintain a positive, safe, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Follow school behaviour policies, routines, and safeguarding procedures
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure continuity of learning
  • Engage pupils and keep them focused throughout the school day
  • Support pupils’ learning and progress during each placement
  • Provide clear feedback and handover notes for permanent staff
  • Represent Class Act professionally while working as a Secondary Supply Teacher

Ideal Secondary Supply Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching in a secondary school setting
  • Confidence working with pupils across KS3 and KS4
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A flexible, reliable, and adaptable approach to supply teaching
  • Good communication skills and a professional attitude
  • Willingness to work across different school environments
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
  • A positive and proactive approach as a Secondary Supply Teacher
