We are looking for a warm, compassionate and reliable Personal Assistant to support a friendly and family-oriented lady in her late 60s who is passionate about maintaining her independence and continuing to enjoy life to the fullest. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building meaningful connections, offering gentle encouragement, and becoming a trusted source of support within a relaxed and respectful environment.
The client is sociable and enjoys good conversation, reading, and getting out and about on the days she feels well enough. She is currently managing fibromyalgia and thyroid-related health conditions, while also recovering from a hysterectomy and previous surgeries for double knee and double hip replacements. Because of this, she would benefit from a PA who is patient, understanding and attentive to her changing daily needs.
The main focus of this role is to promote and maintain her independence while providing reassurance and practical support when needed. Personal care within the role is minimal, although the PA will be expected to remain nearby while she showers to ensure her safety and confidence. There may also be occasions where assistance with mobility is required both at home and when out in the community.
This role would suit someone who enjoys companionship as much as practical support. The ideal PA will be happy to accompany her swimming, enjoy occasional outings when her energy levels allow, and help create a positive and encouraging atmosphere that supports her wellbeing. Some days may involve quieter companionship at home, while others may include trips out, appointments, or social activities.
Alongside companionship and mobility support, the PA will assist with light domestic duties and help manage important admin tasks such as completing paperwork, organising documents and ensuring forms are submitted to the appropriate places when required. Good organisational skills and a proactive approach will therefore be important within the role.
An automatic vehicle is available and the successful applicant can be insured to drive it if required, although having access to your own car is preferred.
Above all, we are looking for someone kind-hearted, dependable and personable — someone who understands the importance of balancing support with independence, and who can provide reassurance, companionship and encouragement in a respectful and empowering way.
