The Vacancy
Liberata’s Business Rates (NNDR) Shared Service Centre is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for an eager, enthusiastic and driven Senior Revenues Technician to join the team. The Senior is a pivotal role within the Business Rates Service and requires professionalism, passion and commitment to the role and the service, as you will play a fundamental part in the delivery to both internal and external colleagues and clients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and delivering the training and mentoring of new and existing staff, supporting the Senior team, managing key task timetables, and reviewing and analysing monthly performance deliverables.
This role is an opportunity for someone to demonstrate and maximise their existing skills to improve service delivery, whilst developing knowledge and technical insight in Business Rates.
Liberata has an established reputation for delivering service excellence to our clients, therefore, you will play a key role in the development and delivery of the NNDR Shared Service Centre; previous experience and knowledge within the field is essential.
To respond to the needs of the service, the successful candidate will need to be adaptable, possess strong organisational/ change management skills and be able to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
Liberata is looking for individuals who are driven, can demonstrate independent thinking, the ability to work on their own initiative with sound problem solving skills. Confidence is key, together with previous experience of working within a fast paced and dynamic environment.

Key tasks and responsibilities:
• Develop, maintain and deliver new starter and refresher training
• Upskill and mentor the team in support of their technical development
• Maintain a strong understanding of service performance metrics, regularly tracking and analysing KPIs to identify trends, support informed decision-making, and drive service improvements
• Develop, manage, and maintain key operational task schedules and annual timetables to ensure timely delivery of service priorities
• Act as a subject matter expert for both internal and external stakeholders and clients
• Accountable for providing specialist support on complex referrals and managing high-level casework from investigation through to resolution
• Responsible for key financial responsibilities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and robust financial controls
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal development and continuous service improvement
• Responsible for owning and reviewing internal processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance
• Manage and lead complex legal cases, coordinating with solicitors and supporting the preparation of case documentation
• Ensure up-to-date awareness of all relevant legislation, policy updates, and regulatory changes, applying them effectively to operational practice

Essential Skills and Attributes:
• Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with minimum 5 grades A-C including English and Maths
• Extensive Knowledge and experience of Business Rates
• Evidence of delivering a first-class service to a diverse range of customers and clients from initial point of contact
• Experience of gathering, organising and managing information
• Experience in working in a busy, fast-paced environment
• Demonstrate a flexible approach to working patterns to meet business peaks and troughs
