Summary
BARR Personnel is looking for HGV Class 2 Day Drivers for a contract in Ipswich. You will be provided with your own vehicle Monday to Friday. Successful applicants must be able to provide checkable work related references/history. All applicants must hold a valid Class 2 licence (CAT C), CPC Card and Digital Tachograph card.
Minimum standards required are the following;
LGV class 2 licence (CAT C) (held for at least 2 years for insurance purposes)
drivers CPC card
digital tachograph card
no DR, DD, DG or IN Conviction codes on driving licence
good communication skill with other colleagues on site
safety boots and hi-viz
delivery experience is essential

Duties
Operate flatbed lorries to transport goods to designated locations safely and efficiently.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of items for safe transport.
Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by company policies.
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, promoting safety on the road.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Assist with minor vehicle maintenance and report any issues to management promptly.
Requirements
Valid commercial driving licence (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Experience as a delivery driver, particularly with flatbed lorries, is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
Excellent communication skills for interaction with team members and clients.
Physical capability to lift heavy items and perform manual handling tasks as required.
