Position: Day Staff
Location: Oldway Heights Care Home, Paignton, Devon
Shifts: 8am - 8pm,
Salary: £12.95 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Provide person-centred care and support to residents during the day shift
- Assist residents with their daily routines, including personal care, mealtimes, medication administration, and any specific care requirements
- Engage residents in meaningful activities and social interactions to enhance their well-being
- Observe and document residents' health conditions and behaviour, promptly reporting any changes to the appropriate staff members
- Support residents in maintaining their independence and dignity
- Collaborate effectively with the night care team to ensure continuity of care and smooth transition of information
- Maintain accurate electronic records of care provided
- Foster a warm, supportive, and respectful environment for residents and their families
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a care role, preferably within a care home environment
- Availability to work day shifts, from 8am to 8pm, 3 days a week
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
- Compassion, empathy, and patience in providing care for individuals with disabilities
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask efficiently
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a care home setting
- Valid enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one prior to employment
