Summary
This is an on the job learning role, offering a varied mix of practical, administrative and customer facing duties. You will play a key part in ensuring funerals and memorial services are delivered with dignity, respect and professionalism, providing an excellent service to families at a sensitive time.
About the role
Working as part of a supportive team, you will be involved in a wide range of duties, including:
Supporting office based administration, answering enquiries and dealing with members of the public
Assisting with funeral arrangements and liaising with funeral directors, clergy and service providers
Preparing chapels for services and supporting music, visual tributes and live streaming
Meeting funeral corteges and assisting with chapel duties and pall bearing where required
Maintaining the cleanliness of public and non public areas within the crematorium
Supporting cemetery and memorial duties, including interments, scattering of ashes and light grounds maintenance
Assisting with parking, safety and the placement of floral tributes

Works well as part of a team and can also carry out tasks independently
Is courteous, polite and sensitive when dealing with bereaved families
Is committed to high standards of customer care
Demonstrates honesty, integrity and professionalism at all times
Is adaptable, reliable and able to work to deadlines
