Summary
Island Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Chef to support the Head Chef in preparing nutritious and appealing meals for residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will have experience in a kitchen environment, a passion for cooking, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing and serving meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food storage areas.
Follow food hygiene and safety regulations at all times.
Support with stock control, deliveries, and menu planning as needed.
Work collaboratively with kitchen and care staff to ensure residents’ dietary needs are met.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a catering or kitchen role preferred.
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
Compassionate approach with an understanding of elderly care needs.
