Long Term Futures is recruiting for a resilient and compassionate Children's Behaviour Support Worker to join an Alternative Provision in Birmingham, supporting secondary-aged pupils. This is a highly rewarding role, working with young people who require additional support to manage their behaviour and re-engage with education.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong experience in SEMH, who is confident supporting pupils that may display challenging behaviour.

About the Role
Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
* Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
* Supporting students within lessons and in alternative learning environments
* Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour using appropriate strategies
* Building strong, positive relationships to support engagement and attendance
* Supporting pupils to regulate emotions and successfully re-engage with learning
* Monitoring behaviour and progress, feeding back to relevant staff
* Encouraging positive behaviour, resilience, and social development
* Working collaboratively with staff to implement behaviour support plans

Ideal Candidate Profile
* Experience working with secondary-aged pupils in an SEMH or Alternative Provision setting (essential)
* Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
* Calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations
* Able to build trust and rapport while maintaining firm and consistent boundaries
* Reliable and committed to a long-term role
* Proactive, adaptable, and a strong team player
