Summary

We are recruiting three exceptional Deputy Divisional General Managers to join the operational leadership teams at Sherwood Forest Hospitals, with opportunities in the following divisions:
• Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC)
• Medicine (focusing on transformation & Improvement)
• Surgery, Anaesthetics and Critical Care (SACC)

• Significant operational management experience within the NHS or complex healthcare environments
• A track record of delivering against demanding operational and financial targets
• Strong leadership and relationship-building skills
• Experience leading teams through service improvement and transformation
• A passion for staff engagement and improving organisational culture
• The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational delivery
Reporting to the Divisional General Manager, you will work with the divisional leadership and wider multidisciplinary teams to shape and deliver strategic and operational priorities for Sherwood Forest Hospitals.
You will work across organisational boundaries, particularly with partners across the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire health system, to strengthen and improve clinical pathways.
Key responsibilities:
• Line management of Specialty GMs
• Deliver challenging operational & access targets across elective, cancer, diagnostic & emergency pathways, including rapid recovery plans
• Lead delivery of finance/activity plans, cost improvement programmes and effective budgetary governance across the division
• Work with system partners to optimise clinical pathways and ensure service level agreements are robust and cost-effective
• Lead service improvement, transformation and productivity initiatives
• Enable digital enhancements across the division, in particular the implementation of an Electronic Health Records System
• Improve staff engagement, wellbeing and culture in response to NHS Staff Survey results and local intelligence
• Develop individuals and teams to reach their full potential
• Ensure robust governance, quality and patient safety processes are embedded across services, working with cross-divisional colleagues where needed
• Build strong partnerships with clinical teams and corporate colleagues to deliver sustained service improvement, including implementation of GIRFT best practice
