We are seeking to appoint, as soon as possible, two Student Support Workers. This is an exciting opportunity to have a key role in working as part of a successful pastoral team, supporting students at Humphry Davy School. As a central part of the Student Support team, you will be expected to form positive relationships with all stakeholders of the school in supporting our young people to overcome any barriers to learning on a personal and academic level. This is a varied and fulfilling role which will help shape our students to be confident and happy individuals, ready to take on the challenges that life throws at them.
We are looking for an excellent team player and communicator who has the confidence to deal with a range of pastoral issues and the ability to take the lead and show initiative. You must have a track record and passion for working with young people. You will have strengths in supporting them; showing care and attention; providing a listening ear, and the ability to act accordingly in a variety of circumstances. You need to be an emotionally resilient person, with superb attention to detail, and a high understanding of the role and responsibility around safeguarding.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our popular and successful school in beautiful West Cornwall. Ofsted (Inspection May 2023) judged the school as ‘good’ and stated, “Pupils enjoy attending Humphry Davy School. They feel safe, happy and well-cared for. Pupils value the warm and respectful relationships they have with their teachers. It is a highly inclusive school”.
We value our long-standing and well-deserved reputation for a cooperative and inclusive ethos which encourages, supports and develops students of all abilities. Our staff are recognised as sharing this strong commitment to raising standards, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved beyond your core responsibilities if you so choose.
