Location: Ramsgate, Kent
Pay: £15.49 per hour rising after 12 weeks.
⏰ Hours: 37 per week (Mon-Fri)
Contract: Temporary ongoing
About the Role
We're looking for a skilled Berth Maintenance Fitter to join Maritime & Technical Services, working on the frontline of harbour operations at the Port of Ramsgate.
You'll play a key role in maintaining and repairing essential marine infrastructure-helping keep the port safe, operational, and fully functional.
Key Duties
- Inspect and maintain berths, pontoons & marine structures
- ️ Carry out repairs on walkways, moorings & harbour assets
- Record inspections and report defects accurately
- ️ Support maintenance and improvement works
- Respond to emergency call-outs when required
- Work with engineers, foreman & contractors
⚙️ What You'll Bring
- Practical engineering / maintenance experience
- Welding and fabrication skills (desirable)
- Strong awareness of health & safety
- Ability to work in a marine / outdoor environment
- Good record keeping & communication skills
- Flexibility for tidal and emergency work
