Summary

As a key member of the Exhibitions and Interpretation team, you will collaborate with colleagues to deliver a varied and challenging programme of engaging exhibitions with the ability to create complementary events and activities overlaying the programme. You will also assist the Exhibitions and Interpretation Manager in delivering against service and team objectives. The teams work includes the delivery of a summer blockbuster exhibition, a variety of exhibitions in flexible spaces, working with regional/national lenders and stakeholders, the delivery of the Arts Council England’s (ACE’s) National Portfolio Organisations (NPO) programme, and developing any future applications for future exhibition funding.



In this role you will support the development, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of our programme. You will have a flair for co-ordination with excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines. You should have a talent for creativity, an eye for detail and experience of working within the cultural sector, having excellent interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with the public and community engagement, colleagues across all levels of the institution, external stakeholders, and volunteers.



As part of this small team, you will work across the full breadth of the programme to include marketing across our social media platforms and website and have an understanding and experience of working with external funders and leveraging in financial grants through their application processes.



For this 37-hour post, the normal working week is a five-day week, Monday to Friday. However, some flexibility will be expected, and some weekend and evening working will be required. The post requires manual handling and working at height, which includes install and deinstall of exhibitions. Familiarity with Microsoft IT software packages is desirable.
