Summary
Due to unprecedented demand Desian Education are working in collaboration with the lions share of mainstream and SEND schools across Halton to support them with their September recruitment. Due to this we are looking to recruitment a number of motivated and skilled Educational Support Workers to support pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis within mainstream primary, secondary and SEND schools.
We have several exciting opportunities to join schools on a full-time basis and play a pivotal role in the education and development of disadvantaged students.
Your new role:
As an Education Support Worker you will offer tailored support to pupils with SEN and specific EHCP’s on a 1:1 basis within a main classroom, resource provision or SEND school. SEN includes a diverse range of needs including the likes of ASD, SEMH, PMLD, cerebral palsy, PECA, PDA, and more. As to ensure that each pupils individual needs and personalities are met you will offer a pupil-centred approach to their education and implement strategies that they best respond to. Your typical duties will include:
- Implementation of positive behaviour strategies
- Promoting sensory and fine motor development
- Use of Makaton, PECs or other visual references to support communication
- Some positions may including personal/intimate care
What you need to succeed:
- Full “Right to Work” in the UK
- Relevant referenceable experience supporting profound needs within a classroom or residential capacity
- A true passion for supporting individuals with complex and profound needs
- Be able to commit to a full-time contract consisting of 32.5 hours from 01/09/2026
- An Enhanced Children’s DBS certificate or willingness to obtain
