Summary

** Strictly no agencies **1 Purpose of Job
To work with students studying Maths and English to promote, monitor and improve attendance, punctuality and engagement. The postholder will support students from enrolment through to completion, working closely with curriculum staff and support teams to remove barriers to attendance and ensure students are fully engaged and able to achieve their qualifications.
2 Principle Accountabilities
• To closely support the work of curriculum-based Progression Coaches to monitor and track attendance and punctuality of students in English and maths , identifying patterns of absence and acting proactively.
• To promote a strong culture of high expectations around attendance, punctuality and conduct, reinforcing the importance of Maths and English in student progression.
• To maintain excellent relations with curriculum-based Progression Coaches helping to ensure students are contacted promptly regarding absence (phone, email, text), ensuring reasons are recorded and appropriate follow-up actions are taken.
• To liaise with curriculum staff, tutors and support services to ensure a coordinated approach to improving attendance and engagement.
• To maintain accurate and up-to-date attendance records and interventions, ensuring all data is recorded on college systems (e.g. ILP).
• To contribute to and support disciplinary procedures where attendance falls below expected standards, attending and conducting meetings as required.
• To engage with parents/guardians/employers (where appropriate) regarding attendance concerns and progress.
• To support induction processes, clearly communicating attendance expectations and support available to students.
• To analyse attendance data and provide regular reports to curriculum managers, highlighting trends, risks and improvements.
• To produce regular attendance and engagement reports and attend link meetings with curriculum areas to review progress, share insights and agree targeted interventions.
• To work closely with Maths and English teams to support retention, achievement and progression outcomes.
• To contribute to initiatives and campaigns that motivate students to attend and engage, including workshops, awareness sessions and incentives.
• To maintain effective communication with the Student Liaison and Support teams to ensure joined-up student support.
• Perform other such reasonable duties commensurate with the grade of the post as required by the Principal and Chief Executive
