An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the organisation as Head of IT & Digital Systems. This is a pivotal senior leadership role with responsibility for leading and developing the organisation’s IT and digital function, ensuring infrastructure, systems, telephony, cyber security and information governance arrangements are secure, resilient and aligned to organisational priorities. Reporting to the Director of Performance and Delivery, the postholder will play a key role in shaping and delivering the organisation’s digital ambition.
This role will suit a highly capable and technically strong leader who is equally comfortable operating strategically and taking a hands-on approach to operational delivery. Working as part of the Senior Management Team, the successful candidate will lead the development, management and optimisation of IT infrastructure and digital systems, ensuring services are reliable, user-focused and fit for the future. With responsibility for a small team, the postholder will be expected to provide visible leadership, day-to-day oversight and support across the full IT function.
The postholder will also act as the lead for Information Governance, taking overall responsibility for cyber security, data protection and GDPR compliance. They will ensure robust governance frameworks, policies and controls are in place, while fostering a strong culture of information security and confidentiality across the organisation. Alongside this, they will provide strategic direction to ensure alignment with the wider health and care digital agenda, representing the organisation at external forums and system meetings as a credible and influential ambassador.
The successful candidate will bring extensive experience across IT, digital systems and service improvement, with the ability to lead organisational change and modernise the current operating model. They will be collaborative, motivated and solutions-focused, with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to continuous improvement, professionalism and organisational values. Participation in the on-call rota will be a requirement of the role.
