Summary
A personal assistant/support worker is required to support a lady living in the Wallsend area with daily living tasks and maintaining her independence at home.
Duties and Hours
Lunch Calls (Saturday to Wednesday)
• 3 x 30-minute lunch calls
o Support to walk into the living room if required
o Prepare lunch
o Empty commode
• 2 x 1-hour lunch calls
o Support with personal care
o Prepare lunch
o Empty commode
Tea / Evening Calls (Saturday to Wednesday)
• 5 x 30-minute tea calls
o Support with evening meal
o Support to walk into the living room
o Empty commode
o Support back to bed
Thursday Support Call
• 1 x 2-hour call (13:30 start)
o Ensure the home environment is safe and hazard-free
o Support with correspondence and technology
o Help reduce feelings of overwhelm and support home management
o Personal care if required
o Support with accessing the community if appropriate
o Assistance with organising and decluttering possessions in the spare room once priority tasks are completed
o Support with preparing a meal at the end of the call
Friday Support Call
• 1 x 2-hour call (14:00 start)
o Support with shopping and housework
o Support with preparing a meal at the end of the call
Additional Information
• Female carers preferred.
• Previous care/support experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
Previous experience would be beneficial but not essential.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a DBS application. This will be funded by the employer.
