Remarkable Jobs are recruiting on behalf of a leading joinery subcontractor specializing in commercial fit-out projects. With a proven track record of delivering high-quality work on time and within budget, their clients are predominantly based in the Central Belt of Scotland.
Quantity Surveyor Role:
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, the successful Quantity Surveyor will play a critical role in managing costs, contracts, financial control, and identifying and mitigating project risks to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for projects.
• Manage all aspects of contracts, including negotiation, administration, and monitoring compliance.
• Track project expenditures, prepare valuation reports, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Identify potential financial risks and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard project profitability.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
What They Are Looking For:
Essential:
• Minimum of 2+ years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, ideally with exposure to joinery or fit-out projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and financial management.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Full UK working rights.
Desirable:
• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Professional membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or working towards chartered status.
• Experience working with subcontractors would be advantageous.
• Estimating experience.
• A UK driving licence is highly desirable.
