West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is a national endoscopy training centre and regional endoscopy academy training centre. This post is to support delivery of Endoscopy training in West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Endoscopy Department.
The post holder will co-ordinate Endoscopy Medical Education ( Med ED) Training Programmes and National Joint Advisory Group (JAG) Training courses for the Gastroenterology department. This will include the delivery of the Regional Academy Endoscopy training programmes, monitoring of the JETS e-portfolio system for trainees and the annual review of progress.
We are looking to recruit an organised, proactive and compassionate individual with excellent communication and administrative skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work calmly under pressure, manage competing priorities, and communicate sensitively. A flexible and team-focused approach is essential, along with a strong commitment to confidentiality, data protection and high standards of patient care.

Core hours: The department operates Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. The post holder will be required to work within these hours across sites. Occasional flexibility may be required; full details will be discussed at interview.
The Endoscopy Medical Education Administrator and Waiting List Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive timely, safe and well-organised endoscopy care and overseas the effective operations of the endoscopy training courses.
The post holder will be part of the Gastroenterology team and will provide administrative support to endoscopy postgraduate education processes, utilising administrative systems to support implementation, monitoring and maintenance of high standards of endoscopy educational practice. They will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate endoscopy waiting lists and diaries, coordinating procedure bookings, monitoring waiting times and escalation of potential breaches, and acting as a key point of contact for patients, clinicians and internal and external services.
With a new hospital planned for Watford, work underway to update theatres at St Albans City Hospital and plans for a neighbourhood healthcare centre in Hemel Hempstead, this is an exciting time to join us.
