Summary
We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our Senior Midwifery Leadership Team within Community Midwifery at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Midwife with proven leadership skills who is ready to take the next step into a key management role. This is a fantastic opportunity to influence and shape the delivery of community midwifery services across UHDB, working as part of a well-established and supportive leadership team.
As a senior leader, you will play a pivotal role in driving service improvement, supporting teams, and ensuring high-quality, safe, and compassionate care for women and families within our communities.
As a senior midwife you will take responsibility in ensuring women and birthing people, babies and families receive safe, clinically effective, individualised care within a team. You will lead by example, offer expert midwifery clinical advice, operationally support and manage teams and homebirth service ensuring the delivery of high quality, effective and compassionate midwifery care.
Senior midwives provide expert clinical and professional midwifery leadership and are responsible for the women and birthing people, babies, public and staff experience. This will be in line with Trust wide policies and procedures and values and behaviours.
Staff wellbeing including appraisals and health and attendance management is vital to this role and requires a confident, inclusive and compassionate leader.
Safe allocation and management of resources are intrinsic to a safe workforce therefore knowledge of workforce rostering and budget management will be required.
The successful candidate will join the Senior Midwifery Team and will be supported to deliver quality improvements in line with our Maternity and Neonatal Improvement Programme and the national maternity agenda.
