Responsibilities
Prepare and cook nutritious meals, snacks, and desserts for residents
Follow individual care plans, dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences
Prepare modified meals and fluids in accordance with IDDSI Levels 3–7
Ensure correct food textures and fluid consistencies are maintained safely and consistently
Maintain accurate food hygiene and temperature records
Keep the kitchen clean and compliant with food safety regulations
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
Promote a positive dining experience for residents
Qualifications
Previous cooking or catering experience, preferably within a care home, healthcare, or similar setting
Good understanding of food hygiene and safety procedures
Knowledge and practical experience of IDDSI texture-modified diets
Ability to prepare meals for residents with dysphagia and specialist dietary needs
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
Caring and respectful attitude towards elderly residents
