- Regular Monday to Friday hours, 45 hours per week
Duties of a HGV Technician:
- Carry out servicing, mechanical repairs, and maintenance on HGVs and Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs)
- Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and present them accordingly
- Complete six-week safety inspections and scheduled servicing tasks
- Diagnose faults utilizing modern workshop diagnostic equipment
- Perform warranty repairs adhering to manufacturer guidelines
- Replace and fit vehicle components safely and efficiently
- Assist with breakdown support as required
- Maintain accurate documentation for workshop and compliance purposes
- Ensure adherence to DVSA standards and company policies at all times
Requirements of a HGV Technician:
- Proven experience working on HGVs in a commercial vehicle setting
- Strong knowledge of LCVs advantageous
- City & Guilds Commercial Vehicle qualification or equivalent preferred
- HGV licence beneficial but not essential
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, hardworking, and well-organised approach to work
- Positive attitude with willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure within a busy workshop environment
