Luma Education Recruitment are seeking a compassionate and skilled Care & Learning Support Assistant to provide holistic support to pupils with a range of care, health, and learning needs. This combined role bridges pastoral care with academic support, helping every child feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide tailored 1:1 and small group academic and pastoral support
• Assist with personal care needs in line with individual care plans and school policies
• Support pupils with complex needs including SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and physical disabilities
• Implement and monitor individual health care plans (IHCPs) and risk assessments
• Assist teachers in delivering inclusive, differentiated lessons
• Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external agencies to ensure joined-up support
• Promote pupils' independence, wellbeing, and confidence across all areas of school life
• Maintain accurate records of care interventions, progress, and concerns

Requirements
• Experience working in a care, educational, or youth work setting
• Understanding of SEN, SEMH, and the social and emotional needs of vulnerable pupils
• Experience with or willingness to provide personal care support
• Warm, patient, and empathetic approach with firm but supportive boundaries
• Ability to adapt quickly to different environments and pupil needs
• Excellent communication and teamworking skills
• Enhanced DBS (on Update Service) required prior to starting
