Summary
We are looking to employ a new Consultant to join our current supportive Consultant body.
The post holder will work primarily in the Memory Clinic and the Young Onset Dementia Service. There will be an additional PA supporting the MHSOP Community Mental Health Teams including managing long term conditions alongside a specialist MHSOP pharmacist. There is a full time Specialty Doctor currently working into the Memory Clinic.
The post will be part of the Newcastle / North Tyneside Old Age Consultant rota with SPR cover which is coordinated by Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust.
The post will be comprised of a combination Memory Clinic, Young Onset Dementia Service, and a smaller component of CMHT work..
The post will have 8.5 clinical PAs split as follows: Memory Clinic (5.5 PAs); Young Onset Dementia Service (2 PAs); and 1 PA supporting the MHSOP Community Mental Health Teams including managing long term conditions alongside a specialist MHSOP pharmacist.
The post involves providing clinical supervision of a foundation trainee working into the Memory Clinic, as well as future opportunities to be involved with undergraduate and postgraduate education, depending on the applicant’s interest (all of which would attract appropriately allocated PA time within the job plan).
