Summary
Central Recruitment is working with a prominent national homelessness charity, whose work includes supporting and accommodating young people.
Our client is currently recruiting for two Progression Coaches to work in the Durham area at a service that provides supported accommodation for young people (aged 18+) to help them move on to their own independent accommodation.
• 37.5 hours per week
• Role 1: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00
• Role 2: Across Monday - Sunday, 14:00 - 22:00
• Temporary cover is required for approximately 3 months.
• £15.20 per hour (£13.56 per hour with £1.64 holiday pay)

Please note: this role involves lone working.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage a caseload of 8 clients, delivering regular key work sessions and support plans
• Ensure client safety and wellbeing, following safeguarding and emergency procedures
• Provide flexible, person-centred support and encourage client involvement in activities and decisions
• Work with external agencies while following data protection and information sharing procedures
• Support clients into education, training, employment and volunteering opportunities
• Help maintain a safe, welcoming environment and support new client move-ins
• Support volunteer coordination and client involvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate records and building security
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
• Experience supporting young people or individuals affected by homelessness
• Understanding of homelessness, mental health, substance misuse and care-experienced individuals
• Experience managing caseloads, risk assessments, support plans, safeguarding and health & safety procedures
• Experience managing challenging behaviour and responding calmly in crisis situations
• Strong literacy, numeracy and IT skills, including note taking
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries, work collaboratively and reflect on practice for development
FURTHER REQUIREMENTS:
In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Current valid right to work in the UK
• Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
• A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
• Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
