Remote (UK & Ireland travel required) - Site visits and occasional Edinburgh office visits as required

Play a Key Role in Delivering Renewable Energy Projects
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects across the UK & Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity to work across solar, wind, BESS, substations, and HV infrastructure projects, supporting delivery from early-stage development through construction and handover.
The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure high-quality engineering delivery across multiple renewable energy developments.
Key Responsibilities

Support electrical engineering and design activities across the full project lifecycle from development through to construction and handover

Contribute to the design and review of HV/LV electrical systems, substations, and grid connection infrastructure

Produce and review technical deliverables including single line diagrams, schematics, layouts, cable schedules, and technical specifications

Support FEED, detailed design, procurement, and construction activities across multiple projects

Coordinate with internal engineering teams, consultants, OEMs, EPC contractors, and grid stakeholders

Participate in technical reviews, design workshops, and project meetings

Support FAT/SAT activities, commissioning, energisation, and site inspections where required

Identify and manage technical risks and support issue resolution during project delivery

Ensure engineering activities comply with industry standards, grid requirements, and health & safety regulations

Contribute to employer's requirements, tender documentation, and engineering standards
Project Scope
-Technologies: Solar PV, Wind, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Substations, Grid Infrastructure
-Project Sizes: 3MW to 300MW utility-scale projects
-Voltage Levels: 33kV to 400kV
Candidate Requirements
-
Strong electrical engineering experience within renewable energy, utilities, power generation, or infrastructure projects
-
Experience supporting projects across the full lifecycle from development through construction and handover

Strong understanding of HV/LV systems, substations, and grid connection requirements

Experience reviewing and producing technical electrical documentation and designs

Experience working with consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams

Familiarity with industry standards and regulations including IEC standards and Grid Code requirements

Ability to manage multiple priorities across fast-paced project environments

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable Experience
-
Experience within utility-scale renewable energy projects

BESS project experience
-
Substation or transmission infrastructure experience

FAT/SAT and commissioning exposure

Knowledge of protection and control systems
Qualifications

Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline

Chartered status desirable but not essential
Additional Requirements

Full UK driving licence essential

Willingness to travel across the UK & Ireland for project and site activities
