This Year 2 Teacher role offers a part-time, long-term temporary and ongoing opportunity from September 2026 within a supportive primary school setting. The Year 2 Teacher will focus on delivering high-quality classroom teaching using pre-prepared plans, with no planning or marking required. This role is ideal for a Year 2 Teacher seeking reduced workload, consistency, and the chance to make a positive impact in Key Stage 1.
Duties as Year 2 Teacher:
- Deliver engaging Year 2 lessons using provided planning and resources
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Maintain clear routines and high expectations for behaviour and learning
- Support pupils’ academic progress and confidence in Key Stage 1
- Adapt lesson delivery to meet the needs of pupils with a range of abilities
- Provide in-lesson feedback to support pupil understanding and engagement
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Ideal Year 2 Teacher:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to engage and motivate young learners
- Reliable and committed to a long-term, part-time role
- Flexible and positive approach to teaching without planning or marking
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
