We are currently seeking compassionate, resilient, and proactive Learning Support Assistants to work within specialist educational settings supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people who may face barriers to learning, emotional regulation, and engagement within education.

The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where pupils can develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges
- Support students both inside and outside of the classroom to encourage engagement and positive participation
- Build strong, trusting relationships with learners through consistency, patience, and positive role modelling
- Deliver targeted interventions and mentoring support tailored to individual learning and emotional needs
- Use trauma-informed approaches and de-escalation strategies to support emotional regulation and behaviour management
- Assist teaching staff with the planning and delivery of learning activities and differentiated support
- Promote independence, resilience, and positive social interaction
- Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and aspirational learning environment
- Monitor and record student progress, wellbeing, and engagement

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional support needs
- A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- An understanding of trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches
- The ability to adapt to changing situations and support students with varying needs
- Previous experience within schools, alternative provisions, youth work, care, or mentoring environments is desirable
