Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated Band 2 Housekeeper to join Wrekin Midwife Led unit at The Princess Royal Hospital.

The role of the Housekeeper will be to ensure that all consumables are ordered, stored and available for all staff within all areas of the unit. The role will require the individual to support with assisting staff with cleaning the patient’s environment. The role requires the individual to be competent with computers, ordering processes and some administrative duties.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills and demonstrate a commitment to enhancing patient experiences. We seek individuals who are compassionate, and capable of delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a challenging environment.



To be responsible for ensuring adequate stocks of consumables are maintained to meet service requirements and that all equipment within the department is clean and in good working order.

To assist in the transfer of patients and equipment.


The post holder will provide non-clinical support to the unit team carrying out tasks assigned to the individual under the supervision of Registered Midwives.


The essence of the role is to assist in maintaining as safe and clean working environment for patients and staff, to support the nutritional needs of patients by supporting the ordering and delivery of catering supplies and meals, and to ensure that stocks and supplies are kept at adequate levels within the ward environment.

Our Service will relocate to The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in 2028 as part of HTP. This move will bring specialist services together in a modern, purpose-built facility to improve patient care and team experience.

We are actively recruiting, and successful candidates will be expected to move with the Service in early 2028. The relocation will follow a formal management of change process, including full consultation and support for staff.
