Operations Manager / Production Manager
Location: Somerset
Salary: £46,000 – £55,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday, Days Only – No Shift Work
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations / Production Manager to oversee the daily running of a busy food production butchery. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on maintaining high standards across production, packing, fulfilment and value-added product lines.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and technical teams to ensure operational efficiency, food safety compliance and consistent product quality.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead day-to-day operations across production, packing and fulfilment
• Maintain high standards in yield optimisation and operational efficiency
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and regulatory requirements
• Manage production planning, labour allocation and workflow efficiency
• Maintain accurate traceability and production documentation
• Support recipe management, yield monitoring and production costing
• Train, lead and develop production teams
• Drive continuous improvement across production processes and standards
Skills & Experience
• Strong background in production planning and operations management
• Experience within an FSA-approved or SALSA-aligned environment
• Knowledge of retail and wholesale packing, labelling and traceability
• Experience using food safety and production management systems
• Strong leadership experience within a fast-paced production environment
• Good understanding of HACCP, CCPs and food safety legislation
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
