Personal Assistant 2:1 Support
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am an 11-year-old young man living in the Aberdare area with my family. I have ASD. I enjoy going to play centres, McDonalds, Tesco, the park and just a ride in the car.
I am looking for a Personal Assistant to support me with my independence and to keep me safe in the community.
PLACE OF WORK
The main purpose of the job is to accompany me to places I enjoy, whilst ensuring my safety at all times.
HOURS OF WORK
16 hours per week – flexible, during the week and on a Saturday
RATE OF PAY
£14.30 per hour
TASKS INVOLVED
• Talking to me and building up a good trusting relationship
• Supporting me to go out and do things socially
• Trips out in the car to activities I enjoy
• Ensuring my safety is always priority
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
You must be reliable, trustworthy, flexible and have patience.
Mature attitude, calm and energetic.
A driver with own car and business class insurance.
Experience of working with young people with ASD is essential.
You must be comfortable around dogs.
ABOUT THE JOB
This post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS check.
Though a part-time job, this is a permanent position and is subject to submission of a National Insurance number. A probationary period will apply in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on receipt of a payslip from Dewis Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to attend any training that is identified as necessary.
