Via East Midlands are currently seeking three Clerks of Works to join our Pre Construction Division based out of our Head Office in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire.

What you'll do:

  • Monitoring contractor performance, specifications and compliance to set works and quality standards, taking action to reduce risk and to reduce any delay in projects meeting SLAs.
  • Supporting program planning and delivery and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of project controls, reporting processes and contract management systems.
  • Liaising closely with contractors to instruct and advise on matters related to quality control and any interpretation of contracts documents.
  • Conduct pre and post work assessments to agree and review work standards to ensure all work is at the required specification and standards.
  • Coordinating multiple live projects ensuring effective communication and prioritisation across all work streams.
  • Provide technical advice to contractors on site, on matters related to quality control and the interpretation of contract agreements and documents.


What we're seeking:

  • Relevant Highway Maintenance experience
  • Experience of overseeing contractors to specific specifications and juggling multiple projects
  • Ability to make well balanced and thought through decisions and on-site technical advice and guidance.
  • Knowledge and experience in the relevant H&S standards with knowledge of environmental and sustainability requirements
  • Delivery focused whilst maintaining attention to detail with experience of meeting deadlines and project delivery SLAs
  • Experience of working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Valid UK driving licence
