Summary
Key Result Areas & Performance Cancer Performance & NHS Returns Provide strategic oversight of NHS cancer datasets (COSD, CWT, RTT), ensuring compliance and proactively identifying risks to national targets. Develop predictive analytics models to forecast compliance against national cancer standards, enabling proactive intervention. Present cancer performance insights directly to the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring data informs strategic priorities. Analyse and interpret highly complex cancer performance data, often with conflicting information, to provide authoritative recommendations that balance national standards, clinical priorities, and operational realities. Plan and organise the delivery of cancer performance reporting across multiple stakeholders, ensuring deadlines are met, resources are coordinated, and outputs are aligned with Trust- wide objectives. Cancer Pathways Lead the strategic design and optimisation of EPIC workflows for cancer pathways, ensuring digital solutions anticipate future NHS policy requirements. Champion innovation in cancer pathway intelligence, driving adoption of advanced BI tools across multidisciplinary teams. Act as the Trusts lead advisor on cancer pathway intelligence, influencing clinical and operational leaders. Business Intelligence & Service Improvement Own delivery of high-impact BI projects that transform cancer service delivery, ensuring measurable improvements in patient flow and outcomes. Provide expert input into business cases and strategic investment decisions, ensuring cancer priorities are embedded in Trust planning. Establish governance frameworks that embed EDI and QIA assessments into all cancer service changes, ensuring compliance and equity. Design systems to ensure data meets requirements for accuracy, completeness, consistency, reliability, and timelines. Focus on utilising technology for automation and ensure adoption of self service reporting. Work with EPR and Cogito teams to ensure all data elements are captured for internal and national reporting requirements. Operational & Strategic Support Act as the senior BI lead for cancer across divisions, aligning divisional objectives with Trust- wide cancer strategy.. Drive integration of cancer performance data into executive dashboards, enabling real-time visibility and accountability. Knowledge Transfer & Support Provide technical walkthroughs for BI/Performance and Cancer Services; maintain run books and handover guides. Where required, coach a Band 6/analyst working on cancer reporting components (no formal line management mandated).
