Summary


We have an exciting opportunity to join our highly acclaimed and well-established Therapy Department at Salford Royal Hospital. This part time fixed term contract is for 5 months covering a maternity leave.

As a Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting patient care and the day-to-day running of the service. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assist Physiotherapists and occupational therapists in providing assessment, planning, and delivering treatment programmes to patients with multiple needs.

You will also take responsibility for administration tasks to ensure the department and team’s needs are met, including general admin, stock taking, cleaning equipment, and preparing therapy classes.

We are looking for someone with

• Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, an NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a healthcare related topic is advantageous

• Good understanding of the role of a Therapy Assistant
• Excellent communication skills and ability to use initiative
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills
• Experience of working within a team (healthcare experience desirable but transferable skills considered)

• You will support and assist with the work of the OT's / Physio's in providing assessment, planning and delivering treatment programmes to patients with multiple needs.
• You will also take responsibility for administration tasks to ensure the department and team’s needs are met. This will include general admin, stock taking, cleaning equipment and class preparation.
• You should have evidence of a good standard of education including GSCE’s or equivalent in English and Maths with an NVQ Level 3 qualification, or equivalent, and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the role of a Therapy Assistant.
• You will have good communication skills, the ability to use your own initiative, good time management skills and the ability to problem solve.
• Experience of working within a team is also required and, if this has not been in a health care setting, we would expect the successful candidate to be able to demonstrate and evidence the relevant transferable skills.
