Flooring 4 Less is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Retail Salesperson to join our growing team in Orpington.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for customer service, interiors, and sales who has experience within the flooring, carpet, or home improvement industry.
As a key member of the showroom team, you will help customers find the perfect flooring solutions for their homes while delivering outstanding service and driving sales performance.

The Role
As a Retail Salesperson, you will:
Deliver excellent customer service at all times
Assist customers in selecting suitable flooring and carpet products
Provide professional product advice based on customer needs and budgets
Drive sales through upselling and cross-selling opportunities
Promote add-on products and fitting services
Support the daily operations of the showroom
Maintain high showroom presentation standards
Work closely with colleagues, fitters, and warehouse staff to ensure smooth customer journeys
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Customer Service
Welcome and assist customers in-store professionally and confidently
Help customers choose suitable flooring solutions for their homes and projects
Provide expert advice on:
Carpets
Vinyl flooring
Laminate flooring
Engineered wood
LVT flooring
Prepare and follow up quotations to maximise sales opportunities
Promote and sell additional products including:
Underlay
Accessories
Adhesives
Fitting services
Proactively upsell and cross-sell products to increase sales performance
Work towards achieving individual and store sales targets
Resolve customer queries professionally and efficiently
Product Knowledge & Expertise:
Maintain strong product knowledge across all flooring categories:
Stay updated on:
New product ranges
Supplier updates
Promotions
Pricing changes
Explain:
Product suitability
Durability
Warranties
Maintenance requirements
Installation guidance
Demonstrate confidence when discussing flooring solutions with customers
Operational Support:
Assist with stock movement, stock checks, and replenishment:
Prepare goods for:
Customer collections
Deliveries
Fitters
Coordinate effectively with warehouse staff and fitters
Maintain showroom cleanliness and presentation standards
Ensure displays are organised, attractive, and fully stocked
Support the Store Manager with day-to-day operational tasks
Administration & Compliance:
Process:
Orders
Quotations
Invoices
Sales documentation accurately
Maintain organised customer records and paperwork
Handle payments and finance procedures in line with company policies
Follow all health & safety procedures and company standards
Ensure accuracy in all administrative tasks
About You:
We are looking for someone who is:
Experienced in retail sales, ideally within flooring, carpets, or home improvements
Customer-focused with strong communication skills
Sales-driven and motivated to achieve targets
Professional, reliable, and enthusiastic
Organised with strong attention to detail
Able to work independently and within a team
Confident dealing with customers face-to-face
