Summary
We host concerts, dances, theatre performances and local community organisations activities across the various spaces within the building.
We are looking to recruit event support staff to work on a casual basis to cover evening, weekend and day time shifts on a rota basis, as dictated by the performances, meetings and other activities taking place within the Halls. The role involves working with event promoters, private hire customers and Town Hall management during the planning, set up, execution and pack down phases of varied events. Post holders will be responsible for tasks ranging from managing seating lay-outs to assisting professional event companies to set up Town Hall for complex shows.
The successful candidates will have:
• Previous experience of working in a public events venue or comparable environment.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills, be numerate, and have the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• A positive approach and a commitment to high standards, with the ability to work unsociable hours, sometimes at short notice.
• Previous experience working with stage technology or in stage management is desirable.
This is a physically demanding role and you will be required to set up for and pack down after events and must be able to move between different levels of the venue using stairs.
Candidates must be willing to undertake all required training for the post.
