JOB OVERVIEW:

Due to an increase in pupils with SEND in our school, Thorpe Acre Junior School is looking for passionate, highly skilled, full-time teaching assistants to work with children with SEND, either individually, or as part of small groups, and to deliver academic, pastoral and behavioural support, whilst successfully nurturing and inspiring our children. This position will initially be within our mainstream school.

We are a vibrant and friendly school, committed to the inclusion of all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Our belief is that with reasonable adjustments children can meet their potential and learn alongside their peers. Our team has a wealth of experience in SEND and support each other well.

WHY CHOOSE US:

Our school is set in a well-connected location, within walking distance of Thorpe Acre Infant School and two secondary schools, and works with the BeSkilled collaborative. You will have the opportunity to work alongside an experienced team and have access to a range of CPD.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and it is expected that staff at the school share this commitment. This post is eligible for a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) (i.e. it involves certain activities in relation to children and/or adults) and is defined as regulated under Part 5 of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006. Therefore an enhanced DBS check for a regulated activity (including a barred list check) is an essential requirement. Shortlisted candidates will be subject to online searches and additional pre-employment checks.
