Summary
A warm, welcoming, and wonderfully animal-loving private client based in the charming village of Great Bentley is seeking an experienced, reliable, and thoroughly pet-friendly Part-Time Housekeeper to join their household and become a trusted and valued presence in their home. Great Bentley is a picturesque and quintessentially English village in the heart of the Essex countryside, surrounded by beautiful open landscapes and offering a wonderfully peaceful and characterful working environment. The household is a lively, joyful, and animal-filled home — and for the right person, working here will be an absolute delight.
Needless to say, the ideal candidate will be a genuine animal lover with no allergies, who feels completely at home in a pet-filled environment and who brings warmth and enthusiasm to everything they do. The household is rich with personality, character, and life — and it calls for a housekeeper who is equally full of warmth, initiative, and a genuine love of their work.
Given the rural nature of Great Bentley and the limited public transport connections to the village, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are strongly recommended for this role. The commute is straightforward by car, and the ability to drive independently makes the arrangement significantly more practical and sustainable for the successful candidate.
The role encompasses the full standard spectrum of private housekeeping responsibilities — from daily and deep cleaning of all actively used areas, the meticulous upkeep of surfaces, shelving, and display pieces including delicate crystals and fine objects, through to the thorough cleaning and dusting of shutters, blinds, and all hard-to-reach areas that accumulate dust over time. The household requires someone who is meticulous, proactive, and thoroughly attentive to detail — someone who takes genuine pride in maintaining a beautifully clean and well-ordered home and who does not need to be asked twice.
Type: Part-Time | Live-Out | Self-Employed

Delivering meticulous daily and deep cleaning throughout all actively used areas of the property — including the living room, hallway, kitchen, and all associated spaces — maintaining an absolutely spotless and consistently high standard throughout
Thorough cleaning and dusting of all surfaces, display areas, shelving units, and cabinets — with specialist care and attention given to delicate items including crystals, fine objects, and decorative pieces
Careful cleaning and dusting of all shutters, blinds, and hard-to-reach areas, ensuring these spaces are kept consistently clean and free from dust accumulation
Managing all laundry and ironing as required, ensuring all clothing and household linen is cared for and presented to a high standard
