Summary


As part of the Transport Services team, you will be joining a friendly dynamic team responsible for ensuring a high quality and efficient service is provided for Manchester University NHS FT as well as GP practices in the MFT catchment area. Along with completing transport tasks for Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, the Transport Services team currently supports more than 100 GP practices across Greater Manchester, other NHS and non-NHS organisations with the collection and delivery of medicines, samples and medical equipment.

As a member of the MFT Transport Services Team you will be a first point of contact between NHS staff and GP surgeries, and as such will play a vital role in ensuring the needs of our service users are met.

A good standard of education (to GCSE level or equivalent) is necessary and possessing a full clean manual driver’s licence. You should be methodical and organised with good communication skills. Full in-service training will be provided. You should also have good verbal and written communication skills, be flexible, accuracy to detail and evidence of working well in a team.

You will be supported throughout with regular reviews to help you develop appropriate knowledge and skill to enable personal development. You will also be required to complete regular driver risk assessments and driver training sessions and other mandatory trust training appropriate to your role.

This job cover all sites in the MFT Group

To undertake driving duties, deliveries and collections of various cargoes and goods on a variety of routes. Predominantly using small vans with occasional use of larger 3.5 Tonne vehicles.

The post holder is required to take responsible care for the health and safety of themselves and other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work. The post holder is also required to co-operate with the Trust to ensure that statutory and departmental safety regulations are adhered to.
