- Assisting with the development and implementation of personalised learning plans, ensuring each student's individual needs are met
- Collaborating with teachers to adapt lesson plans, materials, and teaching methods to accommodate the needs of students with special needs
- Monitoring student progress and maintaining detailed records of their development
- Fostering a inclusive and supportive learning environment that empowers students to thrive
- Communicating regularly with parents, carers, and other professionals involved in a student's care
- Attending training sessions and workshops to further develop your skills and knowledge in special educational needs
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A relevant Level 3 qualification in Teaching Assistant, Learning Support, or a similar field
- Experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably with students who have special educational needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to participate in training opportunities
