Hours: Full time, 37.5 per week, Fixed Term Contract.

We are delighted to offer a fixed term or secondment opportunity (secondments offered to internal applicants only) of 5 months – with a likely opportunity to extend until May 2027 for an experienced and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist who can demonstrate that they meet the requirements of the role of Therapy Practice Education Facilitator. The ideal candidate should display a strong commitment to the role of practice education in driving high standards of safe and effective patient care.
The purpose of this role specifically is to work with the Therapy Practice Educator; the Health Care Assistant Education team and the Milton Keynes Care Academy to support Therapy and Nursing Healthcare Assistants to develop knowledge, skills and confidence in reablement of patients on the acute wards.

In this role you will develop and lead teaching and training activities for Health Care Assistants and Therapy Assistants with a strong emphasis on ward-based education and support. You will also play a significant part in the practical assessment of Care Academy and Therapy Assistant competencies.
You will be supported to develop your knowledge and skills as an educator and will be an integral part of a growing Trust wide Practice Education team. There will be opportunities to contribute to the wider work of the Therapy Practice Education Team.
Previous experience at Band 6 or 5 is essential along with proven ability to work in a proactive and flexible way using your own initiative and as part of a ward-based multi-disciplinary team.
Demonstrable skills in service development are desirable, along with a keen interest in educating fellow healthcare colleagues.

Clinical
