Summary

The Aston School of Computer Science and Digital Technologies is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Computer Science with an interest in Artificial Intelligence to contribute to its research and teaching in this area. The role will involve teaching across a range of topics within the computer science and/or cybersecurity curricula.

Aston University has a clear and forward-looking strategy in digital technologies, which supports the School’s research and teaching environment and provides opportunities for continued development in both areas.

The School is continuing to grow its research activity and student community across the digital sciences, including computer science, cyber security, artificial intelligence and data science. There will be opportunities to undertake research within the School or within one of the University’s research centres or institutes, depending on individual interests. These include the Sir Peter Rigby Digital Futures Institute (DFI) and the Aston Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research and Application (ACAIRA), among others. Those with an interest in Natural Language Processing may also wish to engage with Aston’s Institute for Forensic Linguistics.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a research profile appropriate to their career stage, along with a thoughtful and creative approach to their work. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the development and enhancement of the curriculum in a collaborative and inclusive environment.
