St Bede’s and St Joseph’s Catholic College is seeking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and highly effective Teacher of History to join our successful Humanities team on a maternity cover basis.
The College has experienced significant positive transformation in recent years and was judged Good in all areas by Ofsted. Students are happy, relationships are strong, and academic outcomes are a real strength.
The role
You will join a dynamic and innovative Humanities faculty, teaching History across the full age and ability range up to Advanced Level. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning, raising achievement, and contributing to the wider life of the College.
As part of a collaborative team, you will support curriculum development, share best practice and help ensure that all students make excellent progress.

You will be an excellent classroom practitioner with:
• Qualified Teacher Status
• strong subject knowledge in History
• the ability to teach confidently up to Advanced Level
• a successful track record as a classroom teacher
• a commitment to high standards and raising achievement
• the ability to engage, challenge and inspire students of all abilities
• a strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
• sympathy with and support for the Catholic ethos of the College.
