Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to join our dedicated Children Looked After nursing team within Croydon.
To work as part of the Children Looked After (CLA) health team in Croydon Health Service (CHS), and as part of a wider multi-agency partnership in ensuring that comprehensive and robust arrangements are in place and adhered to in the provision of services delivered by CHS to the children and young people looked after by Croydon Council and Other Local Authorities.

The post holder will work as an autonomous Specialist Nurse for Children and Young People Looked After, managing a defined caseload on behalf of Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. They will undertake statutory Review Health Assessments within required timescales and produce high‑quality, child‑focused health reports in line with national guidance.
The role involves developing, coordinating and reviewing personalised, holistic health plans to meet the physical, emotional and mental health needs of children and young people looked after by Croydon Local Authority, as well as those placed in Croydon by other Local Authorities, ensuring equity and continuity of care.
The post holder will work closely with children and young people, carers, social care and a wide range of health and partner agencies, using a trauma‑informed, strengths‑based approach that recognises the impact of adverse childhood experiences.
They will provide specialist advice, training and professional support to foster carers, residential staff and health and social care colleagues, contribute to safeguarding responsibilities, and support service quality, performance and improvement in line with statutory and organisational requirements.
