Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council for an Environmental Health Technician working within our Commercial Team, located in the Environmental Health Service. We are a small team of highly motivated and passionate professionals and are looking for a like-minded individual to join us. The health and safety, communicable disease and food safety functions are the key service areas which the Team currently delivers.


The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking a range of programmed and reactive interventions across all the areas of work of the Team but with a specific focus on food hygiene. Undertaking proactive and reactive interventions and investigations for food safety, communicable disease, smoking ban enforcement, and health and safety, responding to service requests and other notifications relevant to the work of the team and to take appropriate enforcement action where necessary to protect and improve public health.


Access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement of the role.
