This post is an Assistant Psychologist role within the South Essex Early Intervention in Psychosis (ESTEP) working across South East and South West Essex teams. The service provides care to individuals experiencing a first episode of psychosis and adopts a multidisciplinary team approach to assessment, intervention and recovery-focused care.

The post holder will support the delivery of psychological care to adults and young people experiencing a first episode of psychosis. This will include supporting psychological assessment and intervention under the supervision of a qualified practitioner psychologist, in accordance with agreed care plans and Trust policies and procedures. The role involves both direct and indirect clinical work.

The role also includes supporting the lived experience consultation group, which contributes to service development through collaboration between staff and service users.

Depending on experience, the post holder may assist with complex assessments, including structured interviews and psychometric measures, and communicate assessment outcomes to service users, colleagues and other professionals. There may also be involvement in individual, carer, family and group interventions, consultation activities and staff training, under supervision.

Responsibilities also include maintaining clinical records, supporting safety planning, contributing to audit, research, and service development activities, and using IT systems for data analysis and administration.
