Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist with experience of working with children and adolescents in mental health settings to join the Neuro-Developmental Team at Ealing CAMHS. The team sits within Tier 3 CAMHS alongside adolescent, learning disability, and child and family teams, and links closely with Tier 2 services, the CAMHS Crisis Prevention/Care Team (ALLIANCE), and the CAMHS Eating Disorder Service. The post holder will join a growing team of clinicians with specialist interest in children and young people with complex mental health needs.


We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist who is committed to engaging creatively with a culturally diverse population. The post holder will demonstrate initiative, leadership, teamwork, and clear communication with professionals and service users. Knowledge and experience of working with children and young people with complex mental health needs is essential. The role requires flexibility and the ability to deliver high-quality, evidence-based, person-centred care, along with effective supervision skills.



The Clinical Nurse Specialist will work autonomously, providing specialist diagnostic assessments for children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g. Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and tic disorders) and co-occurring mental health difficulties. They will deliver a range of evidence-based individual, family, and group interventions, including risk assessment and management.

The post holder will receive training in standardised assessment tools such as ADI-R and ADOS, alongside other relevant training opportunities.

In addition, they will contribute to the CAMHS nursing supervision structure, providing supervision and line management to CAMHS nurses. They will also have opportunities to participate in service development, audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
